Holding On

It’s hard to write after last week. All I can offer is natural beauty and a song lyric. I stopped on the way to work a couple of weeks ago to capture this unbelievable sunrise over the Potomac. Absolutely no filters or fanciness here. Just me and my iPhone. The song lyric running through my head these days is an Ani DiFranco classic, “The world owes us nothing. We owe each other the world.”
I hope you are able to find beauty and peace in your corner of the world.
It has been a week of emotional ups and downs; a day of mourning, cold weather, numerous edicts, and this past week, an aviation accident, and a major malfunction on another flight.
Sometimes it’s good to step away from the news, social media, as I have done. Some wonder that I may not care, but for me, selfcare is more important.
My “new” morning routine is basically set. I’m slowly settling into the next phase of life. Many lingering, smaller type projects have been completed. Planning for upcoming months continues. Possible travel, more downsizing, and definitely more family time are in the works.
I take the good and the ugly a bit easier now. Did I mention, less stress?
Two phrases I’ve adopted. “No worries” (yet I do) and “One day at a time” (which is all any of us can do)
Be kind to one another. Be kind to yourself.
Cheers to another week!
